Zombie Bust from Candid Photo's
I'm making this bust using Candid photographs of the subject. The client said that he is a Marvel Zombies fan and these Zombies retain their intellect, which explains the grin on the bust. It still needs tweaking and final approval. I wanted this guy to be a bit past his sell by date, so lots of texturing. I've based the hat on an Indiana Jones type Fedora, not sure if it's right, but it can be adjusted, if it's okay I will bake then sand it smooth, as it's just too fiddly in it's soft state.
Once approved I'll add arms and the base... I really want to get painting this guy.

This bust is insane! I love the way the flesh is deteriorating on his cheek, exposing the teeth. Something to aspire to I suppose....
ReplyDeleteDamn good looking face so far...excellent.
ReplyDeleteAwesome work!
ReplyDeleteHello! (((((hugs)))))
It’s so awesome to visit your blog today on this Halloween blog hop. I’m joining your blog and I hope you’ll join mine, too, so we can learn more about one another.
My favorite monster movie is Night of the Living Dead and I’m dressing up as a mime. Mime is one of the most ancient forms of theatre, appearing around the time of the Greek tragedies. I hope to perfect the art and technique of portraying a mood, idea, or narration by gestures and bodily movements. The only problem is…that I have a big mouth! LOL. It’s so nice to meet you!

Happy Halloween Hop, Phil - good to *meet* you ;)
ReplyDeleteI was reading about your latest project and when I got to the part where you said you couldn't wait to paint it, I was a bit disappointed, because I thought the raw clay color really worked with the piece. HOWEVER, I kept scrolling down and saw some of your finished work, and now I get it. You do fantastic work ;)
Hello fellow hopper!
ReplyDeleteSo glad I was able to visit your site! :) I am visiting from the Coffin Hop--I am # 63-- and happy to take part in this hop also. This Halloween I will be dressing as a swashbuckling pirate. Two of my favorite scary books are The Witching Hour and Let the Right One In. A fave movie is Bram Stoker's Dracula. I love this time of year--we get to indulge in a bit of darkness. Please hop over and visit me if you like at www.penelopecrowe.blogspot.com where I am giving coupons to your choice of my books and you can enter and win a NOOK! Thanks and hope to see you there!

ReplyDeleteYour very welcome and thanks for the feedback. If your not aware I'm looking for people to pose as Zombie Apocalypse survivors for my Zombie Chess Set, the set will also have a Zombified opposite of the survivor. Loads of places left.
